A real highlight however, was the sale of a bronze of Manjushri seated on a lion, dates from the Qianlong period, height 33cm. The extremely fine bronze casting was not fire-gilded, but only in the main roles, painted in the face of the Bodhisattva in gold. With a starting price of just over 7,000, - € climbed the bidding war to just 200,000 - € (!!!) premium included. Such surcharges can be seen as a rule only if the character has a particular signature or mark, which in this case was not given.
