It was a moving auction, but also a bit frustrated. In October 2008, at auction, the auction house Sigalas a small number of gilt bronze figures of a discount. Besides Buddha figures also included a somewhat unusual to kneeling figure, who was also fire-gilded.
The special feature of the auction, the limit prices. Said the figure was just about 120, - € set limit. The other Buddhas were approximately 150, - €. Asian-buying was represented in the auction room, but the increases were consistently at telephone bidder who called apparently from China or from abroad.

The term "rare gilt bronze of a kneeling alien" it is dated to the Kangxi period (Nagel auction 40A, Lot No. 1141). Even if the spade is in the left hand of the figure somewhat lower, it is exactly the kind of figure, which two years ago for 19,000, - was struck €.
